Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) impact almost 2 billion people worldwide, with a disproportionate burden in impoverished communities. While these diseases are considered “neglected” for a variety of reasons, there are some passionate and knowledgeable professionals working to eliminate these diseases which drastically impact the quality of life of many individuals. Dr. Alison Krentel and Maneesh Phillip are two experts united with a shared goal of eliminating NTDs and they continue the conversation with the Public Health Insight Podcast in part 2 of the NTD mini-series. In this episode, they share some of their most impactful career stories from working in the field, challenges and lessons learned from a variety of experiences in different regions, and actionable steps people can take to get more involved in the fight to end the neglect.
